About The Company
Sameer Africa Limited was started in 1969. At the time of its incorporation, it was known as Firestone East Africa (1969) Limited, and was formed in partnership between the Kenyan government and the US-based Firestone Tyre and Rubber Company. Subsequently, a large fraction of the stake held by Firestone Tyre and Rubber Company in the company was bought by a local Kenyan firm known as Sameer Investments Limited. A subsidiary of Sameer Investments Limited, it is based in Nairobi, Kenya. The firm is involved in the manufacture of own branded tyres (Yana). It also distributes a wide range of tyres trading under the Bridgestone brand in Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and Burundi. The firm adopted its current name in 2005. It was listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange in 1995. |
