About The Company


Liberty Kenya Holdings Ltdis a subsidiary of Liberty Holdings Limited. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, the firm’s origins go back to 1964, when it was founded. At the time, it was known as the Kenya American Insurance Company Limited, and was a subsidiary of the American International Group (AIG). In 1987, it would change its name to American Life Insurance Company (Kenya) Limited (or ALICO), subsequently, it was acquired by CfC Insurance in 2004, and changed its name to CFC Life Assurance Company four years later.


Liberty Holdings Limited, which was incorporated in 2004, became the strategic investor in CfC Life, and listed its shares on the Nairobi Securities Exchange in 2011, by way of introduction. A year later, CfC changed its name to Liberty Kenya Holdings Ltd. Through its subsidiaries, the firm offers insurance and wealth management services, and has operations in East Africa, West Africa, and in southern Africa.
