About The CompanyDiamond Trust Bank Kenya Limited was formed in 1945, and has its headquarters in Nairobi. At the time of its incorporation in 1945, it was known as Diamond Jubilee Investment Trust (DJIT). In 1972, the firm’s name was changed, becoming Diamond Trust of Kenya (DTK). This change was aimed at reflecting the transition of the organisation from a community-based finance house (it previously offered savings and credit facilities for members of the Ismailia Community only) into a non-bank financial institution with a much wider public appeal. In 1997, DTK acquired the license to operate as a bank, and subsequently transformed into a full-service commercial bank under the name Diamond Trust Bank Kenya Limited (DTB Kenya). It currently offers a large mix of products, which include: current accounts, savings accounts, call accounts, fixed deposit accounts, debit and credit cards, prepaid cards, cash transfer services, overdraft facilities, various types of loans, insurance agency, asset financing, cash management services, trade finance services, and treasury products and services. Its operations cover the Kenyan, Tanzanian, Ugandan, and Burundian markets. The bank was listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange in 1972, when its shares were floated via an initial public offering (IPO). |
